There exists a golden thread, which leads out of the labyrinth of our broken reality and towards the Truth. The Lectorium Rosicrucianum, or International School of the Golden Rosycross, aims to help seekers find and form a living connection with this shining filament, which is woven of love, wisdom, knowledge (gnosis) and action.
In 1924, when a few good friends began the work that finally lead to the establishment of Lectorium Rosicrucianum, they found troubled and chaotic conditions, with very diverse fragments of the ancient wisdom in the public awareness. Even traces of Hermetic thinking could be found among them, primarily within the circles of the Theosophical Society. The documents preserved by the researchers of literature or found again and again through inspirational ways contained some beautiful and pertinent ideas of Hermes as well.
Where do the Rosicrucians come from, and who is Christian Rosycross? The Rosycrucian teachings of universal wisdom date back to ancient sources. At the beginning of the 17th Century the term “Rosycross” was published in Europe in the classical Rosicrucian wrtitings.
Man is two-fold: In his present form, he is mortal and at the same time immortal with respect to the spirit-park in his deepest, inner core. Through transfiguration, an immortal being arises out of this spark of Light and manifests itself in the world of eternal life.
Rosicrucian teachings are based on the universal wisdom that has always been and will be revealed to those who long for it.
The teachings of transfiguration are not meant for philosophical consideration – they “must be lived”. That is what the pupils in the Spiritual School are working on. Those who do not feel up to practicing being a pupil in this sense but wish to maintain a connection with the school, have the possibility of becoming a member.
Orientation and personal freedom
Before deciding to join, people who are interested are provided as much time and opportunity as they wish so that they can get to know more about the School without any commitment.
“As a child I used to listen to the stories in the temple that were at times exciting, sometimes funny but always beautiful. I was fully sure that it’s all true and all this time I could so much recognize myself in every child that starts searching. Of course I didn’t contemplate yet what the rose bud might actually look like in my heart and why all this happened the way it did. But then I soon began to ask how and why everything is, I began to discover what life on earth really holds.
