This book approaches the subject of life and death from a spiritual perspective, explaining the crucial importance of seeing the difference between the mortal part of ourselves, or 'ego', and the immortal part, the microcosm. The authors demonstrate how, if we are able to see and understand this difference, we - as mortals - are given the tremendous opportunity of helping to bring about the liberation of the microcosm and of sharing in its immortality.
Summary
What is reincarnation? It is a fact often mentioned in books on reincarnation that the part of ourselves we are accustomed to calling 'I' is gradually dissolved after death until nothing remains, while an eternal part, sometimes called the 'microcosm', continues to exist, undergoing numerous reincarnations. However, although this fact is stated, it somehow fails to make an impact, with the result that we still tend to think in terms of 'my' reincarnation, 'my' next life, 'my' past life and so on.
In this book, the author approaches the subject of reincarnation from a totally new angle, explaining the crucial importance of seeing the difference between the mortal part of ourselves, or 'ego', and the immortal part of ourselves, the microcosm. He shows how, if we are able to see and understand this difference, we – as mortals - are given the tremendous opportunity of helping to bring about the liberation of the microcosm and of sharing in its immortality. A unusually clear explanation is given of how the fall of mankind occurred, and how the path back to man's original state can be followed, with the love and help of the Brotherhood of Life.
